This website was created by 2nd and 3rd-year law students from Thompson Rivers University’s Faculty of Law in British Columbia, Canada as a voluntary educational project for our Animals and the Law class.
Our project was partially inspired by a discussion about the popular Netflix documentary “Tiger King” and the greater implications it has about the ethics of captivity, the effects of captive breeding on conservation and exotic captivity laws in Canada. The purpose of this project is to raise awareness about these legal issues, particularly in Canada, and provide a deeper understanding of them for the general public.
